Travelcards and group tickets

A Travelcard (in the zones it's valid for) gives you unlimited travel at any time on bus, Tube, Tram, DLR, London Overground, Elizabeth line and National Rail services in London.

You can use it on all buses, and if valid in zones 3, 4, 5 or 6, on all trams.

Travelcards can start on any day.

Types of Travelcards

Travelcard season tickets

You can buy a 7 Day, Monthly and Annual Travelcard, or one with start and end dates you choose (any length between 1½ and 10½ months).

7 Day Travelcards give you seven days' travel for the price of five days.
Monthly Travelcards are generally cheaper than buying four consecutive 7 Day Travelcards. They give a saving of 11% compared with continuing use of 7 Day Travelcards. For example, over a year, 12 Monthly Travelcards cost 11% less than 52 7 Day Travelcards.
Annual Travelcards give a saving of 13% compared with continuing use of Monthly Travelcards. So you get 12 months travel for the price of 10½. Alternatively they give a 23% saving compared with continuing use of 7 Day Travelcards, meaning you get 52 weeks for the price of 40.

Note that with pay as you go on Contactless or Oyster, Monday to Sunday capping, like 7 Day Travelcards, can give you seven days' travel for the price of five days.

Day Travelcard

You can get unlimited travel in one day with a Day Travelcard (paper ticket):

Anytime Day Travelcards: use for the date on the ticket and for journeys starting before 04:30 the next day
Off-peak Day Travelcards: use from 09:30 (Monday to Friday), anytime on weekends or bank holidays for the date on the ticket and for journeys starting before 04:30 the next day

Group Day Travelcard

You can get unlimited travel with a Group Day Travelcard (paper ticket) if you're a group of ten or more travelling together.

You can travel from 09:30 (Monday to Friday), anytime on weekends or bank holidays for the date on the ticket and for journeys starting before 04:30 the next day.

Where can I use Travelcards?

Buses and trams

You can use Travelcards on all buses. If your Travelcard is valid in Zones 3, 4, 5 or 6, you can use it on all trams.

Tube, DLR, London Overground, Elizabeth line and National Rail

You can use a Travelcard in the zones it's valid for. Make sure it covers all the zones you travel through. If not, you need to add pay as you go credit to your Oyster card or buy an extension ticket.

River services

You can use your Travelcard to get 1/3 off River Boat fares on some services.
